Festivals in Moscow

There is a lot for you to enjoy when you visit Moscow. There are festivals that date back to the time of the Czars and others with more modern roots. Many take place in Red Square which runs along one side of the Kremlin.  The International Moscow Film Festival occurs in June and July, and attracts people from around the world.  The International Folklore Festival lasts from late August to mid December.  You can see authentic folk music at the Hermitage Gardens.

The Kremlin

One of the Moscow tours you won’t want to miss is the Kremlin. Former home of the KGB, this building which used to be closed to the public but is now open to visitors. The Kremlin is an incredible assortment of historic buildings, museums and art, which truly must be seen to be believed.

Moscow is the largest city in Russia.  There are many great museums of interest and there are plenty of historical hotels where you can stay.

If you like warm weather, visit in the summer, as Moscow is pretty far North, being about even in latitude with The Hudson Bay in Canada.  The Farewell to Summer Festival occurs in late August at the Ostankino Television Tower with a circus type entertainment.
